Request Your Driving Record Online

December 7, 2010

AUSTIN - The days of waiting for your driving record to arrive through the mail are over now that the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is offering an online service.

In the past, drivers had to fill out a request for their records and wait up to five days for the paperwork to come through the mail.

With today's feature, Texans can place their orders online and research their information in minutes. "We're very pleased to be able to offer instant access to drivers for their records," Tela Mange, the spokesperson for DPS, said. "And hope they'll enjoy their 24/7 access. As long as you have a working printer, driver license and a credit card, you're good to go."

Traffic laws change. What you thought you knew about rules of driving on Texas roads and highways may have changed. That’s why you’ll want to review the road tips for helpful information on key traffic safety topics such as zero alcohol tolerance for minors, required use of safety belts and child passenger safety seats, and what to do after a collision.
